“In addition to her Record Store Day release, Clark is collaborating with David Byrne on a new LP. “We’re almost done with the record. We recorded it with a brass band. I think it’s going to come out this fall. Then he and I are planning on touring right after. It doesn’t end!” she laughs. Spoken like a true road warrior.” - Paper Magazine

“Cheerleader”
The concept for this is absolutely brilliant – Clark is usually seen as this small, fragile woman, but here she’s a giant, sitting in the middle of a big white space - a warehouse? a gallery? – as people gaze on with mute, muffled horror. That would be interesting and pointed enough, but then she rises up only to shatter into pieces, unable to stand up on her own when made to be a larger-than-life art object. All of her videos have been excellent and play on expectations and tensions stemming from her appearance, but this may be the best yet.
